Brazilian meatpacker Minerva has agreed to pay 22 million reais ($3.90 million) to settle a case related to the payment of "undue advantages" to agricultural inspectors, Reuters reported, citing the local solicitor general's office on Friday.

Minerva, South America's largest beef exporter, confirmed the deal in a securities filing, saying it cooperated with authorities and that no damage to the public purse nor advantages earned by the company have been verified.

The case is related to operations launched by federal police in 2017.
