Brazilian meat processor MBRF said it has invested $70 million to expand its industrial complex in Tacuarembo, Uruguay, inaugurating the facility on Thursday to boost output of higher value‑added beef products, reported Reuters.

MBRF, which has operated in Uruguay for around 20 years, expects the expansion to lift monthly hamburger production to 900 tons from 200 tons, it said in a statement.
