Slaughter values from the EC Dressing Specification have highlighted a 15.9 cent per kilo drop on March R3 heifer values for Italy.

After Lithuania’s 22.6 cent per kilo drop, Italy’s performance is the second biggest depreciation, taking prices from 421.8 cents per kilo in March down to 406 cents.

The opposite was felt in Northern Ireland where heifers rocketed 12.9 cents per kilo to 417.8 cents, well clear of the EU average of 398.9 cents.
