The conference, running from 10 to 11 December 2013, will assemble expert speakers from the Brazilian beef sector and leading figureheads from the US.

Fourteen lectures and four courses, assembled by Brazilian Beef chain publication BeefPoint, will run over the two days, looking at marketing and meat quality, amongst other areas.

Above all, the event hopes to reach the farming community with messages about the strength of Brazilian beef and how to further improve it.

Forrest Roberts, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association chief executive officer will describe how the NCBA developed and its importance in representing farmers and promoting beef in the US.

The Certified Angus Beef Brand is set to attend, revealing how producers can add value by working with brands.

Additionally, two Beef Summit Brasil awards will recognise outstanding achievements made through beef cattle innovation.

One is the BeefPoint Brasil Award, recognising an outstanding contribution to the development of the Brazilian industry. The other is the AgroTalento Award, specifically aimed at young farmers between 24 and 45.

“We believe that the Brazilian beef cattle sector deserves a big national event,” said Miguel Cavalcanti, BeefPoint coordinator.

He added: “Beef Summit Brasil should be a big meeting, a place where people can learn by talking, exchanging experiences, meeting new people and reconnecting with old friends. The knowledge, ideas and projects to be discussed at these meetings joins people who all share a common goal.”
