Chinese Agro-product Promotion Opens in Berlin

CHINA - The Chinese agro-product promotion opened in the 78th Berlin International Green Week (IGW?on January 20, 2013. Vice Minister of Agriculture Niu Dun and Chinese ambassador to German Shi Mingde attended and addressed the Event. Chinese agro-specialties from a dozen of agri-enterprises made their debut in the trade exhibition and business fair of IGW.

Established in 1926, the International Green Week (IGW?is taking place for the 78th time. IGW is a one-of-a-kind international exhibition for the food, agricultural and horticultural industries. Producers from all over the world come to IGW to test market items and reinforce their brand images.

Besides, there are over 300 conferences, seminars and committee meetings held concurrently with IGW each year.

Upon the theme of “carrying forward Chinese agricultural tradition and building going-abroad brands”, the Promotion is a special campaign, presenting achievements of China’s modern agriculture development, increasing awareness of Chinese brands worldwide, and strengthening international agricultural exchange and cooperation.

It is believed that the Event will facilitate Chinese agro-products to global market, and attract interest of oversea consumers.

In his speech, Niu noted that China is a big agricultural country endowed with rich natural resources and huge potentials for agricultural development. The Chinese agro-specialties presented here today are certified for their rich nutrition and high quality, but also represent diversified local features across the country.

Niu pointed out that it is the mission of the Chinese delegation to introduce quality Chinese agro-products to oversea consumers. Moreover, China would also like to get a comprehensive knowledge of other countries’ agricultural progress and competitive products.

Chinese enterprises are looking forward to have business talks with their foreign colleagues. By doing so, it would promote international communication and cooperation in agriculture to a new high.

As a side event, the Chinese delegation put on fantastic art performances on site, including local operas, ethnic songs and dances, Germany folk songs, and so on. The audience responded with enthusiastic applauses.

The agro-products displayed attracted particular attention of oversea visitors, and won high reputation in local community.

The Event is organized by Department of International Cooperation and Quality Agro-product Development & Service Center of MOA, and undertaken by China Good Agri-product Development & Service Association.
