Ticked Off With Another Fever Outbreak

AUSTRALIA - On Wednesday, a case of cattle tick fever was confirmed in the north coast area of New South Wales, much to the irritation of local farmers.

The outbreak is suspected to have come from infected Queensland cattle entering NSW.

According to ABCrural, local farmer Vince Tollomy says producers have warned the government about the need for stronger border control, and he wants more transparency on the issue.

"Why the secrecy? If you knew that the bloke a mile up the road from you had cattle ticks, you're going to keep as much close a watch on your own stock," he says.
