In the Rouchel area of New South Wales, 11 properties are in quarantine and 50 animals have died from the disease since the first confirmed case just before Christmas.

Station agent Jim MacCallum says only one export operator did not attend the sales because of anthrax.

"It didn't have a huge impact to be honest, but obviously like every processor operator here it probably did mean that some of our export cattle may have been three or four cents cheaper than other areas," he said.
