Trouw Nutrition convenes FeedTechnoVision LATAM 2025: From grain to excellence
Event explores how to accelerate innovation in feed processing technology and feed qualityTrouw Nutrition is bringing the third instalment of FeedTechnoVision to Guatemala City, on 2 and 3 October 2025. As the animal protein and pet nutrition value chains across LATAM experience robust growth, surging export activity and massive investments in feed technology and infrastructure, the gathering of feed industry leaders explores pathways to accelerate innovation in feed process technology and feed quality throughout the region.
Twelve sessions and four panel discussions will explore challenges affecting the LATAM feed value chain, including managing raw material quality, ingredient sourcing, process control and capabilities to scale. Global feed industry leading experts will share practical approaches and discuss important topics to support the evolving needs of today’s livestock, aquafeed, and pet food markets.
Day one will focus on processing pelleted feeds, whilst day two will delve into extruded feed. Both days will include an interactive panel discussion on issues affecting LATAM’s and global feed sector. The following is a preview of highlights on each day’s agenda.
October 2 – A pelleting playbook to enhance quality, efficiency and precision
The event will open with remarks on how precision-focused innovations and proactive risk management strategies can improve raw material integrity from harvest to hopper.
Wilmer Pacheco, Associate Professor and Extension Specialist from Auburn University will explore the critical links between precision grinding and finished feed, examining the critical connection between feed technology and biological response. As efficiency and profitability are interconnected, Mr. Pacheco will discuss how feed mills can unlock value through operational excellence and leverage shrink reduction as a competitive advantage.
Remarks by Hector Pacheco, feed mill manager at Mountaire, will look at how precision-conditioning steam processes can support consistent quality.
October 3 – Achieving extrusion excellence
Kicking off day two, Josef Barbi, owner of ESE Intec Equipments will discuss innovations to revolutionize extrusion processing, including advanced equipment and process technologies. Maria del Pilar from Trouw Nutrition will remark on specialized extrusion for functional, palatable pet food formulations.
Looking toward the future, Michael Pereira, Technical Director Petfood at Famsun, will remark on next-gen pet food and extrusion technologies for high meat formulations. Mr. Pereira will also offer best practices for optimal drying to support product quality and energy efficiency in feed processing.
“Since its inception, FeedTechnoVision has been a catalyst for bringing together experts from across the feed sector to exchange knowledge, accelerate innovation adoption in feed processing technology, and ultimately, elevating global standards for feed quality,” said Pedro Caramona, Global Director Feed Safety and Quality at Trouw Nutrition. “Following previous gatherings in Europe and Southeast Asia, we are pleased to explore paths for accelerating LATAM’s remarkable journey from grain to excellence.”
