Paraguay and Argentina Team Up to Combat Cattle Diseases23 July 2014
PARAGUAY – The National Services for Animal Quality and Health (SENASCA) in Paraguay and Argentina have partnered to strengthen attempts to control foot and mouth disease.
Changes will centre around the SENASCA laboratory concerned with ‘biosafety’ that work with the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
Leptospirosis, Brucellosis and Tuberculosis are to be worked on with the OIE assisting officials in SENASCA laboratories.
The bilateral cooperation will
- Assist technicians to reach certain requirements of the laboratories
- Train officials in the protocols of each SENASCA institution
- Provide reference materials and laboratory testing
- Permit samples to be analysed at the demands of the laboratories
The two year plan has been welcomed by Argentinian Senesca President Hugo Frederick Idoyaga, who said: It is a pleasure to be in Paraguay and Argentina to work together, I appreciate the presence of all."
