"We have received notification from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG), that the Corral meat plant is ready to export to market," said Heriberto Amador Director General of SENASA.

"This is an achievement of the Government of National Unity and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (SAG), that this new plant, located in Siguatepeque, can export meat to the Salvadoran market which makes it competitive."

Corral executives in coordination with the Food Safety Division continue to prepare to move into other markets like the US, Mexico, Bolivia and Guatemala with which they maintain a very satisfactory business relationship.

"This is one more window for Honduran meat as the purchase of the product in El Salvador is done in dollars and this will go a long way in the national economy. Last year, exports of 20 million pounds generated about 33 billion in foreign currency for the country."
