Print This Page Dairy Cooperatives to Merge
NETHERLANDS - Two large dairy co-operatives in the Netherlands, Campina and Friesland Foods, have announced their intention to merge.The two have said that the merger, which will create one of the largest dairy producers in Europe, will result in a job loss of 500 jobs, mainly in the head offices.
The cooperatives altogether employ 22,000 people.
The merger still has to be approved by the European Commission.
