Tyson Foods Inc's' costs to buy live cattle increased by about $530 million in the latest quarter, the company said on Monday, as the size of the US herd is shrinking, reported Reuters.

The US beef cow herd dropped to its lowest level since 1962, US Department of Agriculture data showed last month, after a severe drought raised costs for livestock feed.
