Brazil received an official mission from Japanese authorities last week as a part of negotiations to open up the Japanese market to Brazilian beef, Reuters reported, citing a statement from Brazil's Agriculture Ministry on Friday.

"The on-site audit represents an important stage in Japan's process of evaluating the Brazilian sanitary system, reinforcing Brazil's credibility as a potential beef supplier," the ministry said in a statement.
