El Salvador opens market to Brazilian beef exports
New approval boosts trade, builds on 392 market gainsThe Brazilian government received with satisfaction the decision by the government of El Salvador to approve the International Health Certificate (CSI) model for the export of beef from Brazil to that country, according to a government-issued press release.
In 2024, Brazil exported more than US$105 million in agricultural products to El Salvador. With this new market opening, bilateral trade is expected to expand, as El Salvador imported more than US$283 million in beef last year.
With this announcement, Brazilian agribusiness has now achieved 392 market openings since the beginning of 2023.
These results are the outcome of joint efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
