Danish Crown to cut 800 jobs in restructuring push
Meat giant targets $78m in savings amid beef market squeeze
Meat producer Danish Crown will cut around 800 white-collar jobs over the next two to three years as part of a restructuring, Reuters reported, citing a statement on Monday.
Denmark's biggest meat producer and exporter predicted savings of around 500 million crowns ($77.9 million).
Based on workforce at September 2025, the job cuts correspond to around 6% of overall staff.
Danish Crown said last month intensifying competition for fewer cattle in Germany and Denmark, combined with weaker demand, was squeezing profit margins at its beef business.
"The competition in the global food market is intense, and our owners are facing challenging times due to the quotation level," CEO Niels Ulrich Duedahl said on Monday.
