Brazil’s beef exports set new October record
Strong international demand tightens domestic supply and lifts prices
Brazilian beef exports reached a new record in October. According to Secex, volumes shipped in the first ten months of 2025 already represent 96% of total exports recorded in 2024, according to a recent market report from Cepea.
Live cattle exports are also performing well. So far this year, shipments have reached 842 thousand tons, an increase of 12.4% compared with January to October 2024.
Robust international demand has supported prices in Brazil by tightening domestic supply. This, combined with the seasonal shortage of finished cattle, has kept quotations on an upward trend.
Live animal exports have further contributed to the limited availability of animals, reinforcing price strength.
Firm domestic demand for both cattle and beef has led to gradual price increases. In the wholesale market of Greater São Paulo, agents consulted by Cepea report low inventories and steady demand. As beef prices continue to climb, fed cattle quotations remain firm, though buyers are showing greater resistance to additional increases following a series of rises in October and early November.
