Brazil beef output, female slaughter hit records
Production surge continues in 2025
Brazil’s cattle sector continued to set new records for production and exports in 2025, with beef output and female slaughter reaching unprecedented levels, according to Cepea. Official final data have not yet been released.
Lower global beef supply, competitive production costs in Brazil and a strong exchange rate supported output and sales to international markets. For the first time, Brazil shipped more than 3 million tonnes of beef, indicating the sector was able to avoid impacts from US tariffs.
