AFIA names Cornelia Poku as new communications director
Poku brings agriculture, health care and nonprofit experienceThe American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) has appointed Cornelia Poku as its new director of communications, effective August 4, according to a recently published press release. She succeeds Victoria Broehm, who now serves as vice president of member experience.
In her new role, Poku will lead communications strategy for both AFIA and the Institute for Feed Education and Research (IFEEDER), and support the AFIA Marketing and Communications Committee and IFEEDER Education and Engagement Committee.
“We are thrilled to welcome Cornelia to the AFIA team,” said Broehm. “Her depth of communications experience across agriculture, health care and nonprofits, combined with her strategic mindset and passion for storytelling, demonstrate that she will be invaluable in our mission to amplify the industry’s voice in the conversations that matter most.”
Poku brings more than a decade of experience in communications, including roles at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization and FGS Global. Most recently, she managed a $3.1 million marketing and communications budget for AmeriCorps Seniors. She holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from American University and a master’s in education from Lesley University.
