Prion research network launched in sustained fight against BSE
EU - The Commission has launched a European research network for prion diseases. These diseases include BSE, vCJD (variant Creutzfeldt Jakob disease, the human form of BSE), scrapie in sheep and chronic wasting disorder in deer and elk. All caused by the abnormal folding of the prion protein known as Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (TSEs).Source: Euractiv.com
