The Israeli Dairy School Dairy Farming Seminar is an interactive training program carefully designed to educate participants on recent developments in dairy farming and management. The dairy farm seminar covers cutting-edge technological innovations and their practical applications in high-producing dairy herds.

“I don’t want to miss this opportunity to learn about dairy technology from top people in the field, all set in a storied land,” said Seminar participant Phil Durst, Senior Educator of Dairy Beef Cattle Health and Production at Michigan State University Extension. “As we learn from Israeli dairy professionals to deal better with heat stress and the impacts on dairy cattle, we will be able to bring those lessons to our farms in the U.S. In addition, we anticipate learning from the application of principles for feeding cows for high production and improving dairy cattle health and management.”

“Seminar participants will find out Israeli dairy farms consistently produce record milk yields, get to know the local dairy innovations and get to enjoy famous Israeli tourist attractions,” added Israeli Dairy School founder Ofier Langer.

Participants visit three Israeli dairy farms to learn about topics including high-yield production under hot climate and heat stress conditions, breeding and fertility management, economic aspects of dairy herd management, milk quality and udder health, raising calves and heifers and cow health and disease prevention.

The trip also includes a visit to the Holy City of Nazareth, famous churches around the Lake of Galilee (Capernaum National Park) and the Jordan River, the Dead Sea and sightseeing tours to Jerusalem.
Accommodations for two people sharing a room is $2,800 USD per person. Single room rate is $3,250 USD per person. Accompanying family members will get a discount of $350 USD per person.

Price includes six nights of accommodation in a country-style kibbutz hotel; a welcome dinner on participants’ first night in Israel; breakfast, lunch and dinner every day throughout the entire stay; transport to and from all farm visits and tours; lectures by dairy experts; sightseeing tours; the services of a professional licensed tourist guide; and a certificate of Seminar completion.
