Belarus Negotiating Beef Sales to Iran

BELARUS - Belarus is in negotiations on selling beef to Iran.

The possibility of selling Belarusian beef to Iran was discussed as Ambassador of Belarus to Iran Yuri Lazarchik met with Iranian Deputy Minister of Agricultural Jihad Hassan Rokni, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

The sides discussed current matters of Belarus-Iran cooperation in agriculture and, in particular, prospects of cooperation of Belarusian and Iranian veterinary science and radiology specialists with a view to selling Belarusian beef to Iran.

The ambassador passed greetings of Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats to his Iranian counterpart on the occasion of his reappointment to the office. The ambassador also said he hopes Iranian veterinary science and radiology specialists will visit Belarus soon in order to take a closer look at the country's top meat and dairy companies and confirm the quality of Belarusian products.

Mr Hassan Rokni was satisfied with the work done by the Belarusian-Iranian working group on cooperation in agriculture and confirmed the intention to arrange the visit of the Iranian specialists to Belarus soon.
