According to The Peninsula, the Inspection campaigns are also meant to ensure the safety of products as well as the extent to which they meet health requirements at all stages of manufacturing.

Inspectors from the department of food safety and environmental health of the Ministry of Public Health conducted intensive visits to all dairy plants and inspected all stages of production and manufacturing.

The inspectors also made visits to storage depots, transport and sales outlets, as well as inspecting factories’ dairy vehicles to ascertain their appropriateness of health specifications and requirements and standards.

They were introduced to food control systems in the dairy factories. The system defines, evaluates and monitors risks related to the safety of milk and milk products, in addition to ensuring that the manufacturing process conforms to the different quality control systems, including HACCP and ISO.

The campaigns also reviewed documents on regulatory system which includes potential risk points during production and sets the safety standards and control for these points.

The Ministry of Public Health is keen to activate the partnership between inspection bodies and consumers to ensure the safety of food products.
