High-yielding Forage Rape Ideal for boosting Grazing Options
UK - New onto the official National List for 2014, Avon forage rape offers a significant uplift in dry matter yields (recording 130 per cent of control varieties in National List trials) for farmers looking for a boost to summer or late season grazing.Bred in New Zealand by PGG Wrightson, Avon is available in the UK from Germinal Seeds distributors.
In addition to its superior dry matter yield, Avon forage rape has demonstrated in trials exceptional resistance to club root and good resistance to mildew.
The variety has also recorded a favourable leaf-to-stem ratio (45:55) in official trials when compared with other commonly used varieties.
Forage rape can be sown in most parts of the country between May and August to provide cost effective grazing for cattle and sheep.
