Angus Genetics Get Chinese Screening

ARGENTINA – Animal health officials have screened Angus genetic material for disease with a view to it being exported to the Chinese market.

The National Professional Health Service and Food Quality (SENASA) conducted surveys on semen and embryos in Marcos Paz, Buenos Aires.

The range of diseases included: Bluetongue, Brucellosis, TB, Leucosis, Leptospirosis, Bovine Viral Diarrhea, Q Fever, Campylobater foetus and Trichomoniasis Foetus.

Screening was carried out by staff of the Thematic Coordination Metropolitan Regional Animal Health Centre.
