Large-Scale Farming to be Promoted In Northern China

CHINA – A major Chinese dairy region is to be granted special funding to promote large-scare dairy production.

The Inner Mongolia region in northern China is to receive a cash injection of 60 million yuan for the construction of a series of standardised dairy units, says China daily.

A further 100 million of state yuan is to be sought for other developments related to modernising dairy farming.

Subsidies will be based on headage payments. Chinese government authorities announced 300 cow farms will receive 800,000 yuan, while farms of 100-300 cows will receive 600,000 yuan.

Three types of farms will quality for funding, they are; standardised large scale joint or cooperative farms, farms in cooperation of dairy processors and small farms practising back yard production.
