The annual event – running 27-31 October - is the world’s premier dairy conference aimed at allowing networking and knowledge transfer across the supply chain.

The programme includes five days of expert speakers running lectures and forums.

Reproduction, welfare and cattle nutrition sessions are scheduled, along with sustainability focused sessions on environmental stewardship and resource use.

The programme extends to cover economics and marketing issues, as well as food safety and processing.

Shyke Drori, Israel National Committee President expressed that Israel is the ideal host for the Summit.

“Israel has a relative advantage regarding increasing yields in the dairy chain, mainly in the first stages of production,” said Mr Drori.

He continued: “Feed, farm management, animal health, genetics and environment will all be expressed in the Summit’s programme, as will topics regarding other aspects of dairy.”

Mr Drori acknowledged the need world dairy has for cooperation and that the IDF summit should assist in dealing with the sector’s global problems.

He explained that ‘The Future Begins Here’ theme is to drive discussion to answer questions about industrial technology and research.

“It will be a fantastic opportunity to be exposed to both global and local perspectives,” said IDF President, Jeremy Hill. "The IDF World Dairy Summit provides an irreplaceable opportunity for knowledge and networking in all aspect of the dairy chain.

“The Israeli organising committee is working hard to create an attractive and innovative programme that promises to educate and challenge our thinking on the opportunities and issues faced by the sector.”
