Daily Dairy Trading: Butter Only Spot Market Mover, Monday
US – Butter closed higher, reaching a spot market value of $1.7000 at the close of a very quiet trading day on Monday.This followed one bid up 2.5 cents and has continued an upwards trend for Butter, over five cents higher than the prior week average of $1.6480, according to the Agricultural Marketing Service.
No market activity was reported for any other spot commodities as the market sits on a high. Cheddar and Nonfat Dry Milk remaining above the $2 mark.
Class III January Milk closed 16 cents higher at $20.66, over $1.5 behind Class IV on $20.02.
Whey closed on $60 cents per pound exactly.
