A total of six plants are set to benefit from the recommencement of trade of Brazil in Sao Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul , Goias and Mato Grosso, of which four are JBS owned facilities, one Osi and one Frigol.

Official Russian approval came last week when Rosselkhoznadzor, ‘signalled a positive moment in the on-going bilateral discussion’, said Secretary of Agriculture, Rodrigo Figueiredo.

A Meat and Livestock Australia analyst said: “Temporary restrictions still apply on 37 other plants and 18 plants are approved.

“With the new plants approved it is expected that Russian importers will have no problem in fulfilling the assigned quota for this year.”

Authorisation has been granted by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture Livestock and Supply for the recommencement of trade of beef dated from October 11.
