Daily Dairy Trading: Butter Reports Losses as Cheddar Blocks Gain, Tuesday
US – Light trading continued on Wednesday leading to losses in Butter but gains in Cheddar Block spot prices.Two trades closed Blocks up to $1.8250 while Barrels stuck to the price of $1.7800. Butter dropped 1.50 cents to $1.5275, falling further from last week’s average of $1.5575 to $1.5375.
No other changes were seen in the spot market as futures also saw a day of limited flux.
October Class III milk closed a cent lower to $18.20, maintaining the gap of $2.10 with Class IV milk which closed unchanged on $20.30.
October Cheese lifted slightly from $1.7900 to $1.7930 while Whey and Nonfat Dry Milk futures closed unchanged.
