This increase leaves the standard pence per litre price at 33.13 pence and builds on increases from September.

Recent strong performance from commodity prices has been linked to the announcement, which Arla says has described as a ‘competitive market price’.

Explaining why the rise was possible, Head of Milk and Member services Mr Ash Amirahmadi said: "The increase to our owners (AML) and AFMP members is possible due to Arla being able to recover the money from the market place and is in line with the cooperative’s commitment to pay a competitive market price. We thank our customers for their support."
