Daily Dairy Trading: Butter Sees Fourteen Trades, Monday
US – Butter trading led the market activity yesterday as fourteen trades were reported at $1.6100 – unchanged on Friday’s price.Cheddar Blocks sold for 1.5 cents higher at $1.7650 after seven lots were traded. Barrels moved half a cent lower to $1.7150 widening the gap between the two cheeses.
This puts the current difference at five cents, greater than the gap in the previous week which averaged 3.7 cents.
Nonfat Dry Milk saw little activity; only one bid was made for Grade A quality at last week’s price of $1.8300.
Futures trading saw Class III October Milk close at $18.00, up four cents. Class IV did not move from Friday’s gains, rooted to $20.19.
