Daily Dairy Trading: Butter continues Gaining to Close at $1.4300

US – Spot price Butter carried on Tuesday 1.5 cent gains at Wednesday’s close, finishing another two cents higher on Monday’s opening price of $1.3950 at $1.4300.

Cheddar also saw strong bidding the spot markets although no trades yesterday. Blocks lifted 2 cents to $1.7500 with Barrels closing 1 cent behind, up 3.5 cents to $1.7400.

Block prices have reacted buoyantly this week, increasing by at least two cents each day.

In the futures markets Class III September milk closed 12 cents higher at $17.79 while Class IV closed seven cents higher to $19.42.

September Cheese maintained small gains for the week, edging higher to $1.7540. Butter also built on small gain, rising 1.33 cents to $1.4633.
