Annual reports show that, up until August, there were 45 cases of contamination from the substance.

This is according to 50,000 samples analysed through surveillance undertaken by the National Health Service for Food Safety and Quality.

Authorities have reassured that constant inspection and testing measures are in place to secure food safety in the country and protect consumers.
