Government Reassures Consumers of Clenbuterol Risk
MEXICO – The Ministry of Agriculture is playing down the risk of clenbuterol poisoning, saying that 94.2 per cent of meat products have tested negative for the substance.Annual reports show that, up until August, there were 45 cases of contamination from the substance.
This is according to 50,000 samples analysed through surveillance undertaken by the National Health Service for Food Safety and Quality.
Authorities have reassured that constant inspection and testing measures are in place to secure food safety in the country and protect consumers.
