Daily Dairy Trading: Cheddar Blocks Open Gap With Barrels, Wednesday

US – Spot price activity indicates a widening gulf in Cheddar prices after Blocks moved over 5 cents ahead Barrels on Wednesday.

Cheddar blocks changed up 4.5 cents to $1.7725, beating Barrel gains of 1.5 cents which finished on $1.7200.

Butter was another mover, lifting 2 cents at $1.4500.

Both standards of Non-fat dry milk were unchanged. Grade A last traded at $1.7750 and Extra Grade at $1.7300.

There was little activity in the liquid milk futures market. July Class III was unchanged on $17.35, as was Class IV on $18.99.

August Class III milk closed up 12 cents to $18.00.

July Cheese dropped back to $1.7100 after Tuesday’s slight lift.
