Daily Dairy Trading: Barrel Spot Values Up 5 Cents, Friday

US – Spot price cheese traded around five cents higher on Friday to values of $1.7400 and above.

This ended a week of strong bidding which saw values increase at the close on each day, lifting the current average over $1.6800 - up on the previous week’s average prices of around $1.6700.

Friday’s gains were the greatest of the week. In total 31 cheese spot trades were carried out through the week.

Other spot trade movements were seen in Grade A standard Non-fat Dry Milk which increased two cents to $1.7750. Extra Grade remained unchanged from its Tuesday close of $1.7300.

Butter finished the week on $1.4900 after lifting marginally on both Tuesday and Thursday although saw no bidding on Friday.

Futures trading closed August Class III milk at $18.26, up 37 cents .
