Daily Dairy Trading: Slide Continues In Spot Cheese
US – Two weeks of regression leaves Cheddar Barrels almost 15 cents per pound lower which suggests pressure cheese supplies are easing, according to reports from the USDA and CME.Cheddar Blocks dropped 4 cents leaving the price per pound at $1.6375, a drop of 8.55 cents on prior week values. Barrels have fallen further over this period, 14.7 cents lower than the week before.
Non-fat dry milk remains unchanged for both Grade A and Extra Grade standards which have remained on $1.7300 and $1.7000 respectively.
June Class III milk lifted 2 cents to $18.04 while Class IV dropped 2 cents to $18.92. Cheese corrected to settle on $1.7780, where it has been most of the week.
