Countdown to Livestock Event
UK - The Livestock Event, to be held at the NEC in Birmingham, will soon be here, bringing talks, seminars and demonstrations on the most pressing issues around farm technology, economics and animal health. The Livestock Event will enable all farmers to gain the latest technical and financial advice and make more timely business decisions, all in one place on one day from over 450 exhibitors.
While the event retains its true dairy roots with 440 out of 450 exhibitors offering products and advice for dairy farmers, there’s also plenty to see and do for beef and sheep producers – over 300 stands will be of interest to beef farmers and 260 for sheep farmers.
The cattle classes with almost 300 entries, are relocating from Hall 16 - the stand alone exhibition hall, to Hall 17 - one of the main trade halls which is located next to the genetics zone featuring the key suppliers, and adjacent to the outdoor machinery. These new arrangements will enable livestock to be a great deal more prominent and enhance the experience for both visitors and exhibitors. The cattle classes will feature the following two major events:
The National Dairy Show, a new feature organised by RABDF with six different breeds and a comprehensive range of classes covering heifers, milking cows and stockmanship. Judging will take place on both days.
The National Charolais Show, a new event for 80 performance recorded pedigree cattle organised by the breed society combined with the Charolais Young Breeders’ stock judging awards.
The latest technical developments including more than 100 new products, of which over 30 will be launched for the first time at the event.
Forage field: Forage Field a brand new feature in 2013 will include a soil surgery, advice on plate metering, guidance on use of software to make the most from pasture, weed control, how to grow home grown protein feeds and best advice when it comes to baling and wrapping silage.
