Ranchers Benefit From Dominican Interest In Mexican Cattle
MEXICO – Ranchers are profiteering from efforts in the Dominican Republic to strengthen the Dominican cattle herd, with the shipping of more than 100 cattle from the Tebasco and Campeche areas.

The live-weight shipment included Zebu cattle (Gir, Nellore, Guzerat) a Holstein/Gir cross-breed (Girolando) and Brangus cattle.
Trading with Caribbean nations exhibits the trust shown in Mexican ranching standards and the quality of the genetics on offer, said Francisco Jose Gurria, General Coordinator of Livestock of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food.
Marketing the cattle is reportedly worth 4.5million pesos, which Mr Gurria is seeking to further strengthen. Developing trading bonds elsewhere is Mr Gurria's target to expand live cattle exports from Mexico to the rest of the world.
