This follows the notification from the World Organisation for Animal Health that FMD was confirmed in the east of the country last month.

Cattle in the Tarbagatay, Zhanaaul and Manyrak districts have proven positive for the disease following official laboratory testing, reports Trend.

The outbreak, focused in the east of the country has spread despite a raft of control measures.
