Daily Dairy Cash Trading: Cheddar Blocks Rebound, Friday

US - Spot prices for 40 pound cheddar blocks rebounded on Friday to leave cash values at $1.7450 per pound.

This amounted to a .0050 cent increase, the only change in spot prices on Friday.

Cheese barrels (500 pound) closed unchanged from Wednesday’s finish at $1.7075 and Nonfat dry milk was steady all week at $1.7000 per pound for extra grade and $1.6800 for Grade A.

Grade AA standard butter finished the week at $1.5400, unchanged through Friday.

June futures closed down for the week for Class III milk at $17.78, down 10 cents from Tuesday with Class IV unchanged for the week at $19.08.

Cheese futures finished higher on Friday at $1.7470 and Whey prices built through the week, starting closing Tuesday on $0.5705 and closing Friday on $0.5800.

June Butter lost ground finishing on $1.5850.
