Mexican Beef Trade Routes to Russia Still Open
MEXICO – The Russian Federation has approved the continual import of beef and horse meat from Mexico, according to an Agricultural Ministry announcement on Tuesday.This comes after confirmation from the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) that meat hygeine and preparation guidelines in some of Mexico's processing plants are in line with global criteria.
Nine plants have been granted approval for the processing of beef and horse meat for the Russian market.
Initial confirmation came at a trade meeting between government food safety and export bodies on March 22.
