Building on knowledge gained from over 35 years in dairy consulting, EMBRAPA will direct and advise as to the direction the national milk herd can take.

The Agricultural Ministry hopes that Brazilian know-how in developing productive herds in tropical conditions can be replicated for the benefit of Dominican farmers.

EMBRAPA visited livestock farms in Monte Plata and Peravia discussing ideas for development with the National Council for the Regulating and Developing the Dairy Industry (Conoleche) and meetings with experts from the Directorate on Livestock and Agricultural policy.

With extensive knowledge of livestock grazing, feed systems, reproduction and grazing to use, EMBRAPA is one of the most important dairy technology and breeding consultants in the world.

Confidence is building in Dominica, based on feedback from Africa, Europe and Asia regarding the success of EMBRAPA’s advisory work.
