Farmgate Prices Reach 30p/litre for January
UK – According to latest Defra figures, the average farmgate price rose 0.12p reaching 30p per litre for January.

This represents a rise on both December’s values (+0.4 per cent) and on the same month last year (+3.6 per cent), according to DairyCo .
The Northern Ireland (NI) average for January fell to 28.65ppl, a decrease of 1.11ppl (4.1 per cent) compared with December. The January price is 0.81ppl (2.9 per cent) higher than the previous year.
Due to a greater proportion of NI milk going into commodity markets the price can fluctuate greater.
