Farmers to Receive Cattle, Equipment and Training Grants
BOLIVIA – Equipment, training and livestock will be available to farming families following the confirmation of 900,000 bolivianos of investment as part of a national dairy policy aimed at improving sector profitability and productivity.Deputy Farming Minister, Jorge Barahona , has targeted government spending on the La Paz region in a bid to improve dairy efficiency in the area and safeguard national milk supplies.
Through improving the quality of dairy products Mr Barahona has said that the wider population will develop from a broader selection of milk and its derivatives.
Headed by Director Daniel Zapata, the Indigenous fund will subsidise the delivery Holstein cattle to 77 farming families and pay for the training of 900 farmers in dairy modern efficient dairy farming practices.
The project also expects to supply 77 aluminium milk cans.
Officials have said future grants are expected.
