The decision comes as part of government intentions to provide a FMD vaccination free area to receive international recognition for livestock producers in the region.

“This measure fully incorporates the land in between the Black River Province to Patagones Party,” said Minister for Agriculture, Nolberto Yauhar. “It will consolidate a large area attached to the Patagonian area that has had disease-free status.”

Mr Yuahar hopes the decision will lead to more foreign market access to farmers in the area.
