Dairy Investment Taking Effect in Kaluga Region
RUSSIA – A range of dairy farming investment projects for the development, improvement and expansion of facilities has been announced for enterprises in the Kaluga region.
Over the last year subsidy money has been available to agricultural organisations for the installation and procurement of 30 robotic milking systems. Other investments have resulted in 600 cow dairies being constructed in the Borovsky and Suhinichskogo districts with more on the way.
One enterprise in the Maloyaroslavets area has been built with a ‘Carousel’ milking parlour and facilities for the rearing and fattening of younger cattle.
Russian funding goes further than the production side. A dairy processing plant at Syapina was put into operation earlier this winter and is capable of processing 12 tons of milk into high premium product.
