ADDCON has announced that its silage inccolulants based on a strain of L. buchneri, and two strains L.plantarum have been successfully registered throughout the EU until December 2022. The official numbers for the different strains are as following:

Lactobacillus plantarum DSM 3676: 1k20731 Lactobacillus plantarum DSM 3677: 1k20732 Lactobacillus buchneri DSM 13573: 1k20733

The new registration numbers can be read as 1 for technological additive; k for silage additive followed by a specific number. The 3 strains are being used in various KOFASIL.

KOFASIL Lac is being used mainly in grass silage, KOFASIL S is being used in corn silages and KOFASIL Duo is a dual purpose silage additive. The silage inocculants complete ADDCON´s range of silage additives. ADDCON is proud to have a full range of chemical and biological silage additives which are sold under the KOFASIL and the GraSAAT brand.

“The last 2 years me and my R&D team have been very busy with submitting all documents for the new EU registration. Many of our products have been approved by the European authorities already, more will be registered soon” says Dr. Horst Auerbach, head of R&D optimistically.

The German based ADDCON Group of companies has been offering silage additives throughout Western Europe and Scandinavia for many year. For past years, ADDCON has started to enter new markets such as Turkey, South Africa, Russia and Brazil.
