Animal Health Service Hold Tuberculosis Workshops
ARGENTINA - The National Animal Health and Service (SENANSA) held various bovine tuberculosis (TB) workshops through the first week of December in an attempt to improve professional understanding of the disease through the exchange of experiences.Attended by 900 veterinarians the workshops were part of the "Health Stewards Bovine TB Days”, organised by the College of Veterinarians of the Santa Fe Province.
During the meetings participants were given contents of Resolution No. 128/2012 intended for the National Control and Eradication of Bovine Tuberculosis. This was to clarify and consolidate veterinarians’ knowledge so to increase efficiency in the execution of tasks performed in controlling the disease.
The lectures were given by Ana Canal, professor of the Department of Basic Pathology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Hope, National University of Litoral (UNL) and Pedro Torres, Chief of the Tuberculosis Program Planning Division of Health Senasa.
The final workshop focused on the bureaucratic, procedural aspects that structure the national logistics of the TB eradication policy. Talks included information systems and epidemiological surveillance key to continuous assessment.
