Sainbury's Increases Cost Tracker Dairy Price
UK - Sainsbury's has announced that on account of its quarterly review of feed, fuel and fertiliser costs; the milk price paid to farmers will increase by 0.26ppl from 1 July.The Sainsbury's cost tracker model uses a combination of actual annual costings data compiled for the group by Kite consulting and input costs from DairyCo.
In the quarterly review:
- Feed (6 month average) increased by £5.03/tonne compared to the original model.
- Fuel (3 month average) increased by 3.63ppl compared to the original model.
- Fertiliser (12 month average) decreased by £3/tonne.
The model will have a full review in October when costing data from the group will be used as well.
