Canada-South Korea End Beef Trade Row

CANADA-SOUTH KOREA - Canada and South Korea have formally told the World Trade Organisation that they are ending tehir trade dispute over imports of beef and beef products.

In a brief statement to the WTO, the two countries announced that: "On 20 June 2012, Canada and the Republic of Korea submitted a notification of a mutually agreed solution in the dispute “Korea – Measures Affecting the Importation of Bovine Meat and Meat Products from Canada”.

The WTO said that further information will be available within hte next few days.

At any stage during the dispute settlement process, parties can settle the dispute by finding a “mutually agreed solution”.
